Warp Adjustments

Uday making adjustments on the extra weft plank as he sets the weft design for jamdani. When we weave a jamdani, the warp is selectively drawn (referred as ‘Chatni’ in the local language) to lift in specific areas where the extra weft is subsequently inserted. A technical process, it requires a great deal of knowledge to correctly map out the design.
