'BEGUMPURA' by Tree

Begumpura’ by Tree is evocative of the abundance of craft in India. Born out of a long discussion about crafts and their changing perspective - we had to create a textile that stirred a conversation. It was in many ways about working with a trending Color having the perfect visibility of the design - which I must add can sometimes be ‘overwhelming’ in the craft space and sometimes extremely ‘subtle’ to reflect a Western influence. We wanted one which was an exciting mix of both. 

 

While indigo could have been an obvious choice, we decided to go with a striking blue perturbed by an Indian green. The tonality of the green on the blue was carefully engineered. 

 

The design inspired by the Kutch weaves was set in jacquard and hand-woven into a soft plush organic fabric woven by our skillful artisans in India.
